Apollo Hospitals is set to appoint Upasana Kamineni Konidela as Director, Projects, as the healthcare group moves ahead with an expansion programme involving investments of ₹8,600 crore, according to a report by Fortune India cited by Moneycontrol.
Focus on Hospital Expansion
In her new role, Upasana will oversee the development and expansion of Apollo Hospitals’ projects across India. She will work with the management and project partners on new hospital projects, infrastructure upgrades and the design of existing facilities.
As per the report, her responsibilities will also include standardising the design of patient areas to improve navigation and create supportive spaces for patients, families and healthcare teams.
Building on Apollo’s Healthcare Vision
Upasana said her focus would be on carrying forward the vision of her grandfather and Apollo Hospitals founder, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, of making advanced healthcare accessible in India. She also highlighted the role of thoughtful hospital design in supporting patients and healthcare professionals.
Meanwhile, Upasana serves as Vice Chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals Group and is the Founder and Managing Director of URLife, a digital wellness and corporate healthcare platform.
Expansion Plans
The appointment comes as Apollo Hospitals advances its ₹8,600-crore expansion programme. The new role will focus on translating the group’s expansion plans into hospital infrastructure and facilities across the country.
