World Health Expo Broadens Focus on Pharma, Biotech and Longevity

World Health Expo (WHX) will expand its focus on Pharma, Biotech, Longevity and Wellness at its 2027 edition, reflecting the growing global investment in life sciences and healthcare innovation.

The event will take place from 25–28 January 2027 across the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City and Dubai World Trade Centre. It will bring together healthcare organisations, investors, researchers, policymakers and industry leaders to explore investment, innovation and partnerships across these rapidly growing sectors.

Healthcare Markets Drive Growth

Healthcare investment across the GCC continues to rise. According to PwC Middle East, healthcare expenditure in the region is projected to reach US$159 billion by 2029, while more than 160 healthcare projects valued at approximately US$53.2 billion are underway.

Meanwhile, the longevity economy is expected to reach US$5.4 trillion by 2034, according to Bank of Singapore. The pharmaceutical sector also continues to expand, with the global prescription medicine market reaching approximately US$1.7 trillion in 2025, according to IQVIA.

As per the WHX press release, the Middle East and Africa recorded particularly strong pharmaceutical growth, with sales increasing 18% year-on-year.

Focus on Longevity and Life Sciences

The new Longevity and Wellness sectors will focus on preventive health, healthy ageing, precision health and wellness. The Healthspan Stage at Dubai World Trade Centre will host discussions on metabolic health, the science of ageing, wearable technologies and diagnostic data.

Meanwhile, the new Pharma and Biotech sectors will bring together pharmaceutical companies, biotech innovators, researchers, regulators and investors. The Biotech & Life Sciences Forum will explore genomics, precision medicine, clinical trials, biomanufacturing and patient access.

As part of World Healthcare Week, alongside WHX Tech and WHX Leaders, the event is expected to attract more than 90,000 unique attendees and 4,200 exhibitors, with representatives from over 195 countries, bringing global healthcare, digital health and industry leadership together in Dubai.
