Zydus Lifesciences Limited, an innovation-led global life sciences company, has entered into a strategic agreement with Myriad Genetics, a global leader in molecular diagnostic testing and precision medicine. Through this collaboration, Zydus will introduce Myriad’s advanced cancer diagnostic tests to patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems across India, significantly strengthening the country’s precision oncology ecosystem.
Introducing Advanced Genomic Cancer Tests
Under the agreement, Zydus will bring MyRisk® Hereditary Cancer Test, MyChoice® HRD Plus Test for ovarian cancer, and Prolaris® Prostate Cancer Prognostic Test to the Indian market. With cancer incidence rising globally, these tests will help enable early risk assessment, guide personalised treatment decisions, and improve clinical outcomes.
As per the Zydus Press release, the MyRisk® Test helps individuals understand inherited cancer risk and adopt preventive measures and lifestyle changes to reduce future risk. Meanwhile, the Prolaris® Test supports prognosis and treatment planning for prostate cancer patients, while the MyChoice® HRD Plus Test assists in determining optimal therapy pathways for ovarian cancer by assessing homologous recombination deficiency.
Leadership Emphasises Patient-Centric Precision Care
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Sharvil P. Patel, Managing Director, Zydus, said the agreement marks a major milestone in expanding access to precision diagnostic tools in India. He noted that these tests provide actionable insights to predict disease progression, personalise treatment strategies, and streamline clinical decision-making. He also highlighted the importance of identifying hereditary cancer risks not only for patients but also for their families.
Reaffirming Zydus’ commitment to patient-centric care, Dr. Patel added that the partnership will enhance clinician education and strengthen diagnostic infrastructure, enabling earlier and more accurate risk assessment.
Myriad Genetics Strengthens Its India Presence
Brian Donnelly, Chief Commercial Officer, Myriad Genetics, stated that the collaboration represents an important step toward expanding precision oncology in India. He emphasised that Myriad’s tests empower clinicians with deeper insights into tumour biology and genetic risk, allowing for more confident and personalised care decisions.
Empowering Indian Oncologists with Global-Standard Tools
As part of the agreement, Zydus will exclusively market and engage clinicians on Myriad’s three widely validated diagnostic platforms. Already adopted across North America, Europe, and leading global cancer centres, these genomic tools will now equip Indian oncologists with cutting-edge decision-support solutions.
The MyRisk® Test analyses 63 clinically significant genes, including BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, ATM, and TP53, covering cancers such as breast, ovarian, prostate, colorectal, pancreatic, and melanoma. It also includes RiskScore®, which integrates genetic and clinical data to predict short- and long-term breast cancer risk, enabling personalised screening and prevention strategies.
