US-based private equity firm Advent International will invest ₹3,150 crore ($328.5 million) in Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services for a 24.9% stake. The investment will provide primary capital to the listed hospital operator.
As per Reuters, the announcement pushed Yatharth Hospitals’ shares up as much as 8.6% to a record ₹1,067.
Expansion Plans
Established in 2008, Yatharth Hospitals operates nine multi-speciality hospitals with around 2,800 operational beds, primarily across North India. The company plans to increase its capacity to approximately 3,250 beds.
Following the investment, the founding Tyagi family will remain the hospital chain’s largest shareholder and continue to guide its long-term direction.
The transaction adds to the growing private equity activity in India’s healthcare sector, with recent investments involving major hospital and healthcare providers.
