US-based drugmaker Amneal Pharmaceuticals has inaugurated a ₹135-crore administrative office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, strengthening its corporate presence in India. The new facility will support the company’s global research, development and manufacturing operations while improving collaboration across its international network.
New Office to Accommodate 1,200 Employees
The new office spans approximately 3.35 lakh square feet and can accommodate around 1,200 employees, according to an official company release. The facility will bring key teams together and support research and development, manufacturing and corporate functions. Moreover, the office will strengthen coordination across Amneal’s global operations in the United States, India and Ireland, helping the company improve collaboration and operational efficiency. Chirag Patel, Co-founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Amneal Pharmaceuticals, said the investment reflects the company’s continued focus on developing the people and capabilities that support its global business. He also highlighted India’s strategic importance to Amneal’s operations, noting that the country complements the company’s significant and expanding manufacturing footprint in the United States.
Amneal Plans $150–200 Million Manufacturing Investment
The Ahmedabad office forms part of Amneal’s broader investment strategy in India. In October 2024, the company announced plans to invest a net $150 million to $200 million over four to five years to establish two greenfield manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad.
The planned facilities will focus on two specialised areas:
Peptide synthesis: Supporting the production of peptides for pharmaceutical applications.
Advanced sterile fill-finish manufacturing: Strengthening capabilities in the final stages of pharmaceutical production, including the filling and finishing of sterile medicines.
These investments are expected to expand Amneal’s manufacturing capabilities and reinforce India’s role in its global pharmaceutical supply network.
