Antara Introduces Robotic-Assisted Rehabilitation at Bengaluru Care Home

Antara Care Homes, the transition care and assisted living arm of Antara Senior Care, has introduced the ExoAtlet II robotic-assisted exoskeleton at its Bannerghatta centre in Bengaluru. With this addition, the facility has become one of the few transition care centres in India to offer robotic-assisted rehabilitation.

Strengthens Stroke and Paralysis Recovery

The ExoAtlet II supports patients recovering from stroke, paralysis, neurological and orthopaedic conditions, and prolonged illness. The wearable robotic suit assists the legs and hips, enabling patients to perform hundreds of accurate, repetitive walking movements during each therapy session—something difficult to achieve through manual therapy alone.

Specialist-Led Rehabilitation

As per the press release, the robotic exoskeleton complements conventional physiotherapy and a robotic hand-and-finger rehabilitation device. Each patient’s rehabilitation programme is designed by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist and delivered by a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and nursing staff.

Company Highlights Benefits

Ishaan Khanna, CEO, Antara Assisted Care Services, said the growing burden of stroke, neurological disorders, and age-related mobility issues in India has increased the need for advanced rehabilitation. He added that the ExoAtlet II strengthens Antara’s post-operative and rehabilitation ecosystem by helping patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence.

Meanwhile, Lt Col (Dr) Faisal Husain, Medical Superintendent, Antara Assisted Care Services, said rehabilitation outcomes depend on personalised, consistent, and repetitive therapy. He noted that therapists calibrate the robotic exoskeleton to each patient’s condition and progress while combining it with hands-on physiotherapy for better recovery.

Advanced Rehabilitation Facilities

Antara Care Homes operates centres across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Chennai, offering transition care and rehabilitation after hospitalisation, surgery, illness, or injury. Its Bengaluru centre provides specialist-led rehabilitation supported by robotic technology for both lower-limb gait training and hand-and-finger movement recovery.
