Apollo Hospitals has launched ‘Always Open. Always Here.’, a first-of-its-kind initiative that extends routine and planned healthcare services to all seven days of the week, including Sundays.
While Apollo’s emergency, critical care and inpatient services have always been available 24×7, the initiative now extends Sunday access to outpatient consultations, diagnostics, preventive health checks, follow-up consultations and scheduled procedures. This will allow patients to seek timely care without waiting for a weekday.
Addressing the time barrier to healthcare
For many working Indians, busy schedules, family responsibilities and weekday commitments can lead to delays in consultations, tests and preventive health checks.
Apollo’s Health of the Nation 2026 Report highlights the growing burden of lifestyle-related conditions, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes and metabolic disorders. Based on health screenings of more than 2.5 million people across the Apollo ecosystem, the report found that nearly 26% were hypertensive and 23% diabetic despite being asymptomatic.
As per the press release, these findings highlight the need for a more proactive approach to healthcare. ‘Always Open. Always Here.’ aims to provide patients with an additional opportunity to prioritise their health before delays increase risks.
Continuing a legacy of healthcare innovation
Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said, “For more than four decades, Apollo has believed that healthcare is not only about treating illness, but about protecting health and preventing disease. ‘Always Open. Always Here.’ is a continuation of that promise.”
Since 1983, Apollo has introduced several milestones in Indian healthcare, including advanced cardiac surgeries, South Asia’s first Proton Cancer Centre and preventive healthcare through the Master Health Check, which has reached more than 30 million people. Apollo ProHealth also uses AI-powered risk prediction and analysis to help identify health risks earlier.
With the new initiative, Apollo is addressing another barrier to timely healthcare: time.
Sunday services for patients
Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals, said, “People should be able to seek medical care at a time that fits more easily into their lives.” She added that Sunday access could benefit working professionals, caregivers and families managing multiple responsibilities.
Patients will be able to access specialist consultations, preventive health checks, diagnostics, follow-up consultations and scheduled procedures on Sundays, subject to hospital-specific schedules and service readiness.
For example, working professionals can complete health checks without taking weekday leave, while families can schedule planned diagnostic tests or follow-up consultations without waiting until Monday.
The initiative will use Apollo’s existing doctors, diagnostic facilities, operating theatres and coordinated care teams to make Sunday healthcare more structured and accessible.
Overall, ‘Always Open. Always Here.’ reinforces Apollo’s commitment to making healthcare more timely, accessible and patient-centred, while encouraging people to seek care before a health concern becomes a crisis.
