Aster Quality Care Begins Operations, Sets Sights on Expanding Advanced Healthcare Beyond Metros

Aster DM Quality Care Limited has officially commenced operations following the successful merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited (QCIL). The combined entity brings together four trusted healthcare brands—Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH—to strengthen access to specialist care, advanced treatment and cutting-edge medical technology across India.

The merged organisation will begin operations with 39 hospitals across 28 cities, focusing on expanding high-quality healthcare beyond India’s metropolitan centres. Dr. Azad Moopen will continue as Executive Chairman, while Mr. Varun Khanna will serve as Managing Director and Group CEO.

Expanding Specialist Care Across Emerging Cities

With a strong presence across South and Central India, Aster DM Quality Care aims to deepen its footprint in fast-growing, underserved healthcare markets. The organisation plans to decentralise advanced and affordable healthcare by expanding specialist services, investing in next-generation medical technologies and strengthening centres of excellence closer to where patients live.

As per the press release, the combined platform will leverage clinical collaboration, technology adoption, procurement efficiencies, digital health initiatives and operational excellence to improve patient outcomes. Doctors across the network will increasingly work together through shared clinical protocols, multidisciplinary case discussions and centres of excellence, ensuring consistent standards of care across hospitals.

Investing in Advanced Healthcare Infrastructure

With over 10,600 beds across 39 hospitals, Aster DM Quality Care is well positioned to expand specialist care across tier 2 and tier 3 cities, including Nagpur, Aurangabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagercoil, Kolhapur, Kannur, Kasaragod and Kottakkal. These investments will reduce the need for patients to travel to metropolitan centres for complex treatments.

The organisation will build on its existing investments in advanced healthcare, including LINAC-based radiation therapy, robotic surgery programmes and other specialised clinical services. Going forward, it plans to accelerate investments in technologies such as Gamma Knife, stereotactic radiosurgery systems (ZAP), 10 robotic surgical platforms and 12 additional LINAC-based radiation therapy systems across emerging cities.

Driving Future Growth

Over the coming years, Aster DM Quality Care expects to expand its capacity to more than 15,000 beds, improving access to affordable healthcare across the country. Supported by a workforce of more than 45,000 healthcare professionals, the organisation aims to strengthen collaboration among doctors, nurses and caregivers while creating thousands of new employment opportunities across its expanding network.
