Rajasthan has reported a sharp 22% rise in dengue cases within just 11 days, with numbers climbing from 1,575 on September 26 to 1,928 on October 7—an increase of 353 cases. The post-monsoon period has created favourable conditions for mosquito breeding. The state health department has intensified surveillance and preventive measures across districts.

Jaipur Records 18% Spike in Cases

The state capital, Jaipur, witnessed an 18% increase in dengue cases during the same period, rising from 216 to 256 cases. Health officials have launched targeted screening drives in all affected districts to identify new infections early and control the spread.

Health Department Steps Up Preventive Measures

In response to the rising numbers, the Health Department has issued fresh guidelines for managing vector-borne diseases. These directives emphasise the urgent need to eliminate stagnant water, a major breeding site for mosquitoes. They also urge promoting community participation in sanitation efforts.

Public Advised to Take Precautions

As reported by TOI, authorities have also urged residents to wear protective clothing, use mosquito repellents, and cover water containers to prevent mosquito breeding. In addition, anti-larval activities are being carried out as per the prescribed protocol, alongside preparations to curb other seasonal diseases that often emerge post-monsoon.
