
Ahead of World Heart Day 2026, the Illness to Wellness Foundation hosted a conference in New Delhi themed “Healthy Heart for a Healthy Life.” Cardiologists and healthcare experts discussed prevention, early detection and healthier lifestyles amid concerns over pollution, stress and changing habits.
Prevention and Emergency Preparedness
(Padma Bhushan) Dr T.S. Kler, Chairman & HOD, BLK-Max Heart & Vascular Institute, called for stronger preventive cardiovascular programmes and health education. He also highlighted the impact of pollution, stress and changing work patterns on heart health.
(Padma Bhushan) Dr K.K. Talwar, Chairman, PSRI Heart Institute, stressed the need for wider community CPR training to help people respond quickly during cardiac emergencies.
Meanwhile, (Padma Shri) Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani, Chairman, Cardiac Sciences, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, emphasised preventive cardiology and consistent lifestyle changes.
Making Prevention a Daily Habit
Mr. Anil Rajput, Chairperson, Advisory Council, Illness to Wellness Foundation, said everyday choices around diet, exercise, stress and rest play an important role in long-term wellbeing.
As per the Illness to Wellness Foundation’s press release, Dr. Gautam Singal, Senior Consultant and Professor of Cardiology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, said the key challenge is turning health knowledge into daily action.
The conference also covered regular monitoring of blood pressure, blood sugar and lipid levels, along with nutrition, fitness, healthy weight management, adequate sleep, Ayurveda and meditation as part of a holistic approach to heart health.
