Initiative to Take Free Cancer Screening and Health Services to Over 100 Community Locations
Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad, in association with Faridabad Industries Association (FIA) Charitable Society and Rotary Club Faridabad, has launched ‘Sehat Express’, a mobile healthcare bus offering free cancer screening, medical consultations and health awareness services across Faridabad and adjoining areas.
The bus was formally flagged off by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini during the Faridabad Half Marathon at the Surajkund Mela Grounds.
Bringing Cancer Screening Closer to Communities
Launched under the campaign “Sehat Express – Sehat Aapke Dwaar, Prevention Har Baar,” the initiative aims to take preventive healthcare closer to residents. The mobile unit will conduct free outreach camps across villages, industrial hubs, PSUs, RWAs and residential societies.
The programme plans to reach more than 100 community locations in its first year. The bus is equipped with mammography and X-ray facilities for targeted cancer screening and general diagnostic assessments. Fortis doctors will also provide medical consultations during the outreach camps.
Focus on Early Detection
As per the Fortis Escorts Faridabad press release, Mr Mohan Soni, President, Rotary Club of Faridabad Midtown, said the initiative would help bring specialised diagnostic services closer to communities and support early detection and timely intervention.
Navdeep Chawla, Chairman, FIA Charitable Society, said the initiative would improve access to preventive screenings and encourage regular health check-ups among industrial workers and residents of rural and suburban areas.
Making Preventive Healthcare Accessible
Doctors from Fortis Escorts Faridabad highlighted the importance of early diagnosis in improving cancer treatment outcomes. They said Sehat Express would help reduce geographical and logistical barriers by taking screening and medical expertise directly to communities.
Dr. Abhishek Sharma, Facility Director, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad, said the initiative would bring specialised diagnostic services, including mammography and radiology, to the doorstep of residents while supporting early clinical intervention.
