IIHMR University Hosts Global Conference on AI for Global Health

IIHMR University organised a two-day Global Health Management Research Conference themed “AI for Global Health: Innovation, Integration and Sustainability.” Through this platform, the University brought together thought leaders, policymakers, researchers, and industry experts to explore how artificial intelligence can transform global health systems.

The conference featured five thematic tracks: Transforming Community Health through AI and Behavioural Science Integration; AI for Sustainable Development; CSR & ESG Performance Measurement; AI for Market Access, Forecasting & Pharma Commercial Excellence; and AI in Population Health Management & Predictive Care Pathways.

Over two days, the event convened leaders from reputed organisations such as PwC, Narayana Health, Sandoz, Novo Nordisk, Wadhwani AI, and Population Council. The experts discussed India’s paradigm shift in healthcare delivery, driven by the expansion of telemedicine, digital health records, AI-enabled diagnostics, predictive analytics in population health, and data-driven policymaking.

Leadership Emphasises Ethical and Inclusive AI

As per the press release, Dr. P.R. Sodani, President, IIHMR University, described “AI for Global Health” as a timely and significant theme. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed AI framework, “MANAV,” which stands for Moral and ethical, Accountable governance, National sovereignty, Accessible and inclusive, and Value-driven and legitimate. He stressed that stakeholders must leverage AI not only to enhance efficiency and analytics but also to promote equity, accessibility, and sustainable public health outcomes.

Inaugural Address Highlights Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Dr. Pramod Yeole, Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, inaugurated the conference and delivered the keynote address. He stated that modern health systems require collaboration across disciplines, including management, technology, pharmaceutical sciences, behavioural sciences, and public policy.

Furthermore, he highlighted Rajasthan as fertile ground for implementation research and emerging AI applications. He noted that AI-driven models can support training programmes for non-communicable disease screening, strengthen medicine supply chain forecasting, enhance diagnostic capabilities, and detect insurance fraud.

Adding to the discussion, Mr. Arun Kumbhat, Strategic Advisor (Digital Health) at Libra Social Research Foundation, spoke about building digital innovation ecosystems and developing scalable AI solutions to create inclusive health systems.

MoUs Signed to Strengthen Research and Innovation

Importantly, IIHMR University signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with partner institutions during the conference. These agreements aim to advance global health management research, foster innovation, and promote academic exchange. Through this initiative, the University reinforced its commitment to collaborative research, digital health innovation, and capacity building.

Valedictory Session Focuses on Human-Centric AI

Prof. Ranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of Shobhit University, attended the valedictory session on February 21, 2026, as Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the importance of AI in healthcare while advising students to remain human-centric in their professional journeys. He encouraged them to serve communities with dignity and respect, ensuring that technology complements compassion.

Conference Sees Strong Participation and Industry Engagement

Dr. Himadri Sinha, Provost of IIHMR University and Organising Secretary of the conference, reported that the event witnessed the signing of 10 MoUs, participation from over 400 delegates across diverse domains, and contributions from 20 eminent speakers. He presented the conference report and highlighted the strong academic and industry engagement achieved during the two-day event.
