Justdial Limited Reports Rising Demand for Mental Health Services Across India

Justdial Limited, India’s leading local search engine, has recorded a significant year-on-year increase in searches for mental health services nationwide. By comparing search volumes from February 2024–January 2025 with February 2025–January 2026, the company identified a clear rise in user intent to seek professional support. The data highlights growing demand for counselling, therapy, and psychiatric services across both metro and emerging cities.

Counselling Services Lead Pan-India Growth

At the national level, Counselling Services registered the highest growth at 14%. Meanwhile, Psychiatric Services increased by 8%, and Counselling and Therapy Centres grew by 5%. Collectively, these figures demonstrate steady expansion in demand for both independent practitioners and institutional mental health setups.

Kolkata and Delhi See Sharp Surge in Therapy Centre Searches

City-wise trends reveal stronger momentum in select markets. Kolkata recorded a striking 102% increase in searches for Counselling and Therapy Centres, more than doubling year-on-year interest. Similarly, Delhi reported a robust 48% rise.

Additionally, Lucknow and Surat each posted a 23% increase, while Ahmedabad (+11%), Jaipur (+10%), and Chandigarh (+7%) showed consistent growth. These patterns indicate expanding awareness and accessibility of therapy services beyond traditional metropolitan centres.

Delhi Emerges as Leader in Counselling Services

In the Counselling Services category, Delhi led with a 54% increase, reinforcing its role as a key hub for mental health consultations. Mumbai followed with a 23% rise, closely trailed by Bangalore at 22%. Chennai also recorded steady growth at 8%.

This upward movement suggests that more individuals are actively exploring personalised counselling options in major cities.

Psychiatric Services Witness Steady Uptick Across Cities

As per the press release, searches for Psychiatric Services also climbed notably. Delhi topped the category with a 31% increase, closely followed by Lucknow at 30%. Mumbai and Jaipur each recorded a 15% rise, while Bangalore (+12%) and Chennai (+11%) maintained steady growth.

These figures reflect increasing acceptance of psychiatric care as an essential component of structured mental health treatment.

A Measurable Shift in User Behaviour

Overall, the data underscores a clear behavioural shift. More individuals across India are proactively seeking structured mental health support. As awareness grows and stigma gradually declines, both metro and emerging cities continue to demonstrate sustained and meaningful growth in demand for counselling, therapy, and psychiatric services.
