Nova IVF Opens Advanced Embryology Lab in Pune to Enhance Embryo Safety

With nearly one in six couples in India facing infertility, Nova IVF Fertility has inaugurated a state-of-the-art embryology laboratory at its Lullanagar centre. The facility aims to improve embryo safety and treatment precision through advanced technology, supporting better IVF outcomes.

Experts say male factor infertility accounts for nearly 40–50% of infertility cases, while an increasing number of younger women are experiencing poor egg quality, highlighting changing reproductive health trends.

Technology Enhances Precision and Safety

The laboratory is equipped with advanced incubators, AI-assisted sperm and embryo assessment, RFID-based electronic witnessing systems, and continuous air quality monitoring. These technologies help maintain optimal conditions for embryo development while ensuring greater safety, accuracy, and transparency throughout the IVF process.

Personalised Treatment Makes a Difference

As per the press release, Dr. Rupali Tambe, Fertility Specialist, Nova IVF Fertility, Lullanagar, shared the case of a couple aged 42 and 43 (names changed) who successfully conceived through their first IVF cycle after receiving a personalised treatment plan supported by advanced sperm selection and genetic testing. A single embryo was transferred to reduce pregnancy-related risks, demonstrating the benefits of combining personalised care with advanced laboratory support.

Embryology Lab is Central to IVF Success

Embryo quality contributes to nearly 40–60% of IVF treatment outcomes, making the embryology laboratory a critical component of fertility care.

Dr. PGL Lalit Kumar, Head of Embryology & Scientific Director, Nova IVF Fertility, said the laboratory follows the ART Act, 2021, and uses electronic witnessing technology to minimise the risk of gamete and embryo mix-ups. He added that Nova IVF also provides specialised training to embryologists across its network to ensure high standards of safety, ethics, and scientific precision.

Choosing a Fertility Clinic

Experts recommend choosing ART Act-registered clinics that offer transparent success rates and pricing, experienced clinicians and embryologists, and comprehensive financial, clinical, and psychological counselling to support couples throughout their fertility journey.
