Strengthening Access to Timely Medical Advice
PharmEasy, one of India’s leading healthcare platforms, is enhancing access to online doctor consultations as more users turn to digital channels for everyday medical advice. Through the PharmEasy app, the Doctor Consult service connects users with licensed doctors via audio or video calls across multiple specialities. As a result, users receive convenient, private, and timely medical guidance without visiting a clinic.
Wide Network of Doctors Across Specialities
As per the press release, PharmEasy powers Doctor Consult with a network of over 70 licensed doctors. The platform addresses both routine and sensitive health concerns while ensuring access to quality care across India. Notably, it places strong emphasis on Tier 2 cities, enabling users to access premium medical expertise regardless of location.
Moreover, the service offers 24/7 availability, free follow-up consultations, and digital prescriptions. These features reduce delays in seeking care and ensure continuity of treatment. Importantly, if a doctor recommends an in-person visit, PharmEasy provides a full refund of the consultation fee, reinforcing its patient-first and responsible care approach.
High Demand Across Key Specialities
Currently, the platform covers more than 20 medical specialities. The most consulted categories include general health, skin and hair, women’s health, sexual wellness, and childcare.
General Physicians (GPs) account for nearly 85% of total consultations. Most users prefer to begin with a GP and move to a specialist only if required. In contrast, users seeking skin and hair consultations—particularly young adults living independently for work or in hostels—often approach specialists directly from the outset.
Growing Focus on Youth and Mental Well-Being
Alongside physical health concerns, the platform has observed increasing demand for stress management and overall well-being support among young users. In response, PharmEasy plans to introduce dedicated mental healthcare specialists. Through this expansion, the company aims to strengthen its comprehensive and holistic care journey.
User Behaviour Reflects Lifestyle Integration
Consultation demand typically peaks during morning hours (8 am to 12 pm) and evenings (6 pm to 10 pm). This trend indicates that working professionals increasingly integrate medical advice into their daily routines. By offering flexible online access, PharmEasy enables users to seek timely care without disrupting their schedules.
Evening consultations show slightly higher queries related to sexual health, gynaecological issues, and child health. Additionally, overall consultation volumes rise during weekends, reflecting greater availability among users.
Notably, sexual health consultations have seen a significant uptick. The privacy and anonymity of online consultations empower users to seek advice for sensitive concerns they might otherwise hesitate to discuss in person.
Strong Growth and User Trust Across Cities
PharmEasy Doctor Consult has witnessed active adoption in cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Gurgaon. Over the past three months, the service has recorded nearly 15% average month-on-month growth. Furthermore, close to 20% of users return for repeat consultations, demonstrating growing trust and sustained reliance on the platform for follow-up care.
Leadership Perspective on the Shift to Digital Care
Commenting on the trend, Gaurav Verma, Chief Business Officer, PharmEasy (API Holdings), said, “We are seeing a gradual shift in how people approach healthcare. More individuals now seek medical advice early rather than waiting for symptoms to worsen. Online consultations bridge this gap by providing timely and affordable access to quality doctors, especially in Tier 2 cities. They also allow users to discuss sensitive concerns privately. Our focus is to make doctor consultations a natural first step for everyday health needs.”
Building the Future of Accessible Healthcare
As digital healthcare continues to evolve, PharmEasy remains committed to building reliable, accessible solutions. By complementing traditional care pathways and adapting to changing patient expectations, the platform aims to make healthcare more proactive, private, and seamlessly integrated into daily life.
