Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, is developing a state-of-the-art 2,000-bed medical city in Mumbai, making it one of the most ambitious private healthcare projects in India. Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, announced it during the company’s 48th annual general meeting on August 29.
A New Era of Healthcare Innovation
“This will not be just another hospital,” Ambani declared. “It will be India’s new beacon of healthcare innovation, where AI-powered diagnostics, cutting-edge medical technology, and some of the finest doctors from India and abroad will come together to deliver care that meets the best standards anywhere in the world.”
The upcoming medical city will also include a medical college to nurture future generations of healthcare professionals. Ambani added, “We hope our country will be proud of it, and the world will look up to it.”
HN Reliance Foundation Hospital Marks a Decade
As reported by moneycontrol, the announcement coincides with Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital completing 10 years of service. Recognised as India’s top multi-specialty hospital, it has served more than 3.3 million patients to date.
New Wing “Jeevan” for Advanced Cancer Care
Expanding its services further, the hospital is launching a new wing named “Jeevan”, dedicated to chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with a special emphasis on advanced paediatric oncology. Ambani described the wing as “designed to heal our little ones with world-class care and a mother’s warmth.”
Commitment to Accessible World-Class Healthcare
Reliance Foundation’s initiatives reflect a larger vision to make high-quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all Indians. The medical city project aligns with India’s growing focus on integrating AI, precision medicine, and global best practices into the healthcare ecosystem.
