Renalyx Launches India’s First AI-Enabled Indigenous Hemodialysis Machine

Renalyx Health Systems Pvt. Ltd., a technology innovation leader in renal care, has launched RENALYX – RxT 21, India’s first fully indigenous, AI- and cloud-enabled smart hemodialysis machine. Designed and manufactured entirely in India, the RxT 21 offers real-time remote monitoring and clinical connectivity. Priced from INR 6.70 lakh, significantly lower than imported alternatives, this machine aims to make dialysis more affordable and accessible, particularly in semi-urban and rural regions.

Rising Demand for Dialysis in India

According to data from the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program (PMNDP), India records approximately 2.2 lakh new End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) cases annually, leading to a demand for around 3.4 crore dialysis sessions every year. The launch of RxT 21 comes as a timely solution to address this growing healthcare burden.

Advanced Features for Improved Renal Care

RENALYX – RxT 21 integrates cutting-edge technologies such as cloud-based telenephrology platforms, AI-powered smart algorithms, and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) for continuous performance monitoring. It also includes:

  • Integrated Nephrology Information System (NIS)
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) integration
  • Real-time telemetry for remote diagnostics and alerts
  • Advanced image processing for clinical oversight

These features allow doctors to access patient data, current machine settings, and critical event history remotely, enabling prompt treatment decisions.

A Milestone in Indian Medical Device Manufacturing

With the launch of RxT 21, Renalyx becomes the sixth company globally—and the first in India—to manufacture an advanced dialysis machine with EU CE certification. The Indian CDSCO approval is expected by July 2025, and U.S. FDA clearance is anticipated by March 2026.

Investment and Expansion Plans

As reported by TOI, Renalyx plans to invest INR 800 crore over the next four years to expand manufacturing capacity. By FY25-26, the company aims to produce 5,000 machines annually and add another 1,500 machines by FY27-28. Additionally, Renalyx intends to manufacture consumables locally to further reduce costs and dependence on imports.

Manufacturing Footprint and Funding Strategy

The company operates manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru and Mysuru (Karnataka) and Mumbai (Maharashtra). To support its scale-up, Renalyx plans to raise funds through equity sales, debt financing, and promoter investment. The company is also preparing to go public within the next three years.

Pan-India and Global Deployment Underway

Initial deployments of the RxT 21 will begin in Maharashtra and Karnataka, followed by rapid nationwide distribution through partners and franchisees. Renalyx has already secured international orders from South Africa, the United States, and Europe, marking a successful entry into the global market.

Making Dialysis Accessible at the Grassroots Level

Renalyx aims to install RxT 21 machines in primary health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs), private dialysis centres, and hospitals. To support this, the company has established local service teams and technician training programs to ensure a smooth rollout. Franchise centres will be set up across India and overseas in collaboration with partners.

BEL to Manufacture Earlier RxT 17 Model

In a strategic partnership, Renalyx has granted a manufacturing license to Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) to produce 6,000 units of the earlier RENALYX – RxT 17 model over the next three years. While RxT 17 offers standard dialysis features, the new RxT 21 sets a benchmark in smart, connected dialysis care.
