S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mahim – A Fortis Associate, has launched a suite of advanced medical services including AI-enabled Digital Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (Digital PET CT), 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3T MRI), and state-of-the-art Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (NICU & PICU). These additions aim to elevate the hospital’s diagnostic precision and critical care capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to world-class, patient-centered healthcare.
High-Tech Diagnostics: AI-Driven PET CT and 3T MRI
As reported by ExpressHealthcare, the hospital has launched new digital PET CT and 3T MRI facilities. These promise faster, more accurate diagnoses through AI-enabled imaging technologies.
- Digital PET CT, led by Dr. Mary Anne Joseph, Head of Nuclear Imaging, offers improved resolution, reduced scan time, and enhanced patient comfort. Equipped with advanced AI tools, it can identify lesions with high precision—vital for diagnosing and staging cancers, neurological disorders, infections, inflammatory diseases, and cardiac conditions. Faster imaging also helps reduce treatment delays.
- 3 Tesla MRI, overseen by Dr. Sanjay Bhatia, Consultant – Radiology, delivers high-definition images and faster scan times, thanks to its stronger magnet and AI integration. This enhances workflow, enables early diagnosis, and supports more accurate treatment planning.
Cutting-Edge NICU and PICU for Comprehensive Pediatric Care
The hospital has further strengthened its pediatric services. It introduced advanced NICU and PICU units designed for critical care in infants and children.
- The NICU, with seven beds, is equipped with high-frequency ventilators, CPAP units, LED phototherapy systems, and hospital-grade sterilizers.
- The PICU includes four beds, one of which is a dedicated isolation bed for immunocompromised or infectious patients.
- A dedicated pediatric ward with four additional beds is located on the same floor to ensure seamless coordination and timely care.
> These units, led by Dr. Asmita Mahajan, Consultant Neonatologist & Paediatrician, are also designed with family comfort in mind, featuring bright, calming interiors and family-friendly spaces.
