S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mahim Launches Comprehensive Women & Child Care Department

S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mahim – A Fortis Associate, has launched its Department of Women & Child Care, bringing specialised services for women and children under one roof. The new department aims to provide continuity of care from adolescence, pregnancy and motherhood through menopause, while supporting children from infancy through adolescence.

Comprehensive Care for Women

The department will provide antenatal and obstetric care, including high-risk pregnancy management, childbirth and postpartum support. In addition, its gynaecology services will address conditions such as menstrual disorders, PCOS, fibroids and endometriosis, along with adolescent gynaecology, cancer screening and menopause care.

The department will also offer minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, where clinically appropriate.

Paediatric and Neonatal Services

For children, the department brings together paediatric and neonatology specialists with round-the-clock care for newborns, infants and children. A dedicated NICU will support critical and high-risk newborns, while services will also cover immunisation, growth monitoring and complex paediatric conditions.

As per the hospital’s press release, the department also draws on paediatric specialists across cardiology, intensive care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology, clinical genetics, orthopaedics, neurodevelopmental paediatrics and other super-specialties.

Multidisciplinary Team

The department brings together specialists from Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatology and Paediatrics, including Dr. Swity Kora, Dr. Vandana Shetty, Dr. Manasi Medhekar, Dr. Sangeeta Pickle, Dr. Alka Kumar, Dr. Reshma Hussain, Dr. Vikram Shah, Dr. Asmita Mahajan, Dr. Deepak Ugra, Dr. Rajesh Chokhani and Dr. Ganesh Lahane, among others.

Dr. Kunal Punamiya, CEO, S.L. Raheja Hospital, said the department aims to connect women’s and children’s healthcare journeys and provide families with specialised care across different life stages.
