Initiative highlights timely cardiac care and support for underprivileged children
On World Heart Day, Sarvodaya Hospital, Sector 8, Faridabad, brought together around 50 children who had received free treatment for complex heart conditions through the Sarvodaya Foundation’s CSR initiative, along with their parents. The gathering celebrated their journey towards healthier lives and highlighted the importance of timely cardiac care.
Supporting Children Through CSR
Through its CSR initiatives, Sarvodaya Foundation supports underprivileged children requiring critical heart treatment, helping families access specialised care that may otherwise be difficult to afford. As per the press release, the initiative reflects the foundation’s continued efforts to make paediatric cardiac care more accessible.
Speaking about early detection, Dr. Jay Relan, Senior Consultant – Paediatric Cardiology & Congenital Heart Disease, Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, said parents should watch for signs such as breathing difficulties, poor feeding or weight gain, unusual fatigue, fainting and difficulty keeping up with physical activity. He advised families to seek medical evaluation when such symptoms persist.
Sarvodaya Hospital provides diagnosis, interventional procedures and surgery for a range of congenital and structural heart conditions. Dr. Anupam Das, Senior Consultant & Head – Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, said treatment may include procedures such as ASD or VSD repair and Tetralogy of Fallot repair, depending on each child’s condition.

The celebration also featured World Heart Day-themed T-shirts, return gifts and a selfie zone, while keeping the children and their families at the centre of the event.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Chairman, Sarvodaya Healthcare, said timely access to specialised cardiac care can make a lasting difference for children. He added that Sarvodaya has performed more than 1,000 paediatric cardiac surgeries and continues to combine clinical expertise with efforts to expand access to essential healthcare.
