Initiative focuses on preventive healthcare, healthy ageing and heart health
Terna Speciality Hospital & Research Centre, Nerul, has launched its 60+ Senior Citizen Health Card for senior citizens across Navi Mumbai and Panvel. The initiative aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible to people aged 60 years and above while encouraging regular health assessments instead of waiting for symptoms or medical emergencies. Launched ahead of World Heart Day, the initiative also highlights the importance of prioritising heart health at every age.
The health card offers a one-time free health check-up for one person, covering blood pressure, random blood sugar, ECG, CBC, BMI, eye and dental check-ups, along with a physician consultation. Cardholders can also avail themselves of selected healthcare services at discounted rates, including consultations, diagnostic investigations and other hospital services, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Celebrating Senior Citizens Through Music and Togetherness
As part of the initiative, Terna Hospital organised a special evening of devotion, music and togetherness featuring Siddhi – The Divine Band and more than 20 artists. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from over 600 senior citizens from Navi Mumbai and Panvel. As per the press release, the event provided an opportunity for senior citizens to enjoy music, interact with one another and celebrate togetherness, while participants also received the 60+ Senior Citizen Health Card.
Promoting Healthy and Independent Ageing
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Subhodh Shinkar, COO, Terna Public Charitable Trust, said that caring for senior citizens is an investment in the emotional and social well-being of the entire family. He added that the health card aims to encourage preventive healthcare and make timely medical attention more accessible to senior citizens in Navi Mumbai and Panvel.
Dr. Aparna Methil, Director – Medical Services, Terna Speciality Hospital & Research Centre, said regular health checks can help identify risk factors early and enable timely medical guidance. She particularly highlighted the importance of heart health as cardiovascular risks can increase with age, adding that prevention, awareness and timely evaluation can help senior citizens remain healthier and more independent.
Terna Speciality Hospital said the initiative reflects its broader approach to healthcare by extending its focus beyond treatment to prevention, dignity, independence, emotional well-being and healthier ageing among senior citizens.
