Kolkata-based SI Surgical Pvt. Ltd. has opened its first medical equipment experience centre in South India at Nandambakkam, Chennai, marking a major step in the company’s expansion plans for the region. The company also announced plans to establish a medical equipment manufacturing facility in Chennai to cater to the growing demand across southern India.
The experience centre was inaugurated by Dr. J.S. Rajkumar, Chairman of Lifeline Hospitals, Dr. Kannan, Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist, Chennai, and Swami Sampath Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, in the presence of SI Surgical Founder and CEO Sanjoy Mukherjee. Dr. Sathish Christopher, MLA from Radhapuram, also visited the centre and extended his wishes to the company. SI Surgical is also participating in the MediCall Expo being held at the Chennai Trade Centre.
Regional Hub for Healthcare Providers
Spread across 5,500 sq. ft., the experience centre will serve as a regional hub for hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres across South India. It showcases the company’s range of medical equipment, including modular operation theatres, CSSD equipment, operation tables and lights, 4K laparoscopy systems, advanced diathermy units and minimally invasive surgery equipment.
As per the press release, the facility will also provide technical support, after-sales service, equipment selection assistance and faster maintenance support through a dedicated regional team.
Chennai Manufacturing Facility Planned
Speaking at the launch, Sanjoy Mukherjee said the experience centre reflects the company’s commitment to making advanced medical technology more accessible to healthcare providers in South India. He added that SI Surgical plans to establish a manufacturing unit in Chennai to meet the region’s medical equipment requirements and strengthen its supply network.
