Three women who recently tested positive for COVID-19 died within two days in the district, confirmed Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Madhav Prasad Hasani on Tuesday. However, he emphasized that all three were already suffering from serious underlying health conditions, and there is no cause for alarm in the community.

Details of the Deaths

A 64-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman passed away on Sunday, while a 50-year-old woman died on Monday, said Dr. Hasani.

“These women had severely weakened immune systems due to existing conditions such as blood cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes, and thyroid disorders,” he explained.

Current COVID-19 Situation Under Control

Despite the recent fatalities, the health official confirmed that the COVID-19 situation in the district remains under control.

“Currently, only seven COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment across the district. Moreover, we did not report a single new case on Tuesday,” Dr. Hasani noted. “There is no need to panic.”
