Lilavati Hospital to Launch Super-Speciality OPD in Kazakhstan in September

First International Healthcare Facility

Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre is set to expand its international presence with a super-speciality outpatient department (OPD) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from early September 2026. The facility will become the hospital’s first healthcare centre outside India and will bring its specialist expertise closer to patients across Central Asia.

The centre will provide specialist consultations, second opinions and advanced treatment planning. Moreover, patients requiring complex procedures or advanced surgery will be connected with Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.

Wide Range of Specialities

The Kazakhstan facility will offer services across several super-specialities, including oncology, liver and hepatobiliary care, kidney and transplantation, cardiac sciences, neurology and neurosurgery, IVF and reproductive medicine, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, urology, endocrinology and diabetes, paediatrics, and pulmonology.

As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the initiative forms part of Lilavati Hospital’s broader strategy to expand its healthcare services internationally and establish a stronger presence in Central Asia.

The hospital will use the Kazakhstan centre as a gateway for patients who need specialised medical expertise. While doctors can provide consultations and treatment guidance locally, complex cases will have a structured referral pathway to the Mumbai hospital.

Furthermore, the initiative is expected to support telemedicine, medical education and doctor-to-doctor collaboration, helping build stronger healthcare links between India and Kazakhstan.

Plans for Wider Expansion

Lilavati Hospital is also exploring opportunities in other international markets, particularly across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. At the same time, it is expanding its presence within India through planned projects in Ahmedabad, Indore and New Delhi.

Consequently, the Kazakhstan launch marks an important step in Lilavati Hospital’s efforts to take Indian super-speciality healthcare expertise to international patients.
