₹700 Crore Boost for AIIMS Darbhanga to Strengthen Healthcare in Bihar

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an additional ₹700 crore for the AIIMS Darbhanga project, further strengthening the development of the upcoming medical institute in Bihar.

Total Project Cost Rises to ₹1,964 Crore

According to Nadda, the newly approved funding comes in addition to the previously sanctioned ₹1,264 crore, bringing the total estimated project cost to approximately ₹1,964 crore.

He also assured the House that the Union Government is prioritising the timely completion of AIIMS Darbhanga. Moreover, the government expects that long-standing execution challenges that delayed the project will now be resolved, allowing the construction work to move forward more efficiently.

This strategic location is expected to improve access to advanced healthcare services for residents of north Bihar and the Mithila region.
