The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will organise the 10th National Summit on Innovation and Inclusivity—Best Practices Shaping India’s Health Future—in Chandigarh from April 30 to May 1, 2026. The summit will bring together key stakeholders to showcase transformative practices in public healthcare.

High-Level Inauguration and Participation

  1. P. Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, will inaugurate the event. He will be joined by Nayab Singh Saini and Arti Singh Rao.

In addition, senior officials—including Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries (Health), Mission Directors, and State/UT nodal officers under the National Health Mission—will participate. Representatives from the National Health Systems Resource Centre and Regional Resource Centre–North East will also attend.

Platform for Innovation and Cross-Learning

The National Summit serves as a flagship initiative of the Ministry. It aims to showcase, recognise, and document innovative and impactful practices adopted by States and Union Territories to address diverse public health challenges.

Moreover, the summit facilitates cross-learning by enabling the replication of successful and scalable healthcare models across the country. It also provides a platform for presenting evidence-based and outcome-driven interventions that have led to measurable improvements in health outcomes.

Legacy of Knowledge Sharing

Since its launch in 2013, the initiative has consistently brought together States and UTs to share experiences and innovations in public healthcare delivery.

Most recently, the 9th edition of the summit took place in Puri from February 28 to March 1, 2025, continuing the tradition of collaborative learning.

Rigorous Selection of Best Practices

For the 2026 summit, the selection process began in April 2025. States and UTs submitted their innovations through the National Healthcare Innovation Portal.

Subsequently, programme divisions within the Ministry evaluated and scored all entries. Based on these assessments and a detailed review led by the Chairperson of the National Health Mission, organisers selected 13 oral presentations and 32 poster presentations for the summit.

Insights from the Common Review Mission

In addition to the presentations, the summit will feature the dissemination of the report from the Common Review Mission (CRM). The 17th CRM was conducted across 17 States in November 2025.

For this exercise, authorities constituted 17 multidisciplinary teams comprising ministry officials, public health experts, civil society representatives, development partners, and consultants.

As a result, the findings will offer critical insights into the functioning of public health systems and help guide future policy and programme interventions.

Focus on Key Healthcare Priorities

As reported by pib.gov.in, the summit will include plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and exhibitions. These will focus on strengthening primary healthcare, advancing digital health innovations, and improving service delivery systems.

Importantly, these efforts align with flagship initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

Driving the Future of Public Health

Overall, the 10th National Summit aims to accelerate innovation, promote inclusivity, and strengthen India’s public health ecosystem. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, it will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the country.
