The Ambuja Neotia Group will develop a major integrated healthcare and hospitality project in Guwahati after receiving approval from the Government of Assam. The proposal was cleared under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and includes the construction of a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital in the state.

The project will come up on a 2.88-acre mixed-use land parcel located at Fancy Bazar on Old Jail Road. Overall, the development will involve a combined investment of more than ₹700 crore.

Integrated Infrastructure for Healthcare and Hospitality

The project will combine healthcare and hospitality infrastructure within a single development. It will feature a state-of-the-art 300-bed multi-speciality hospital alongside a premium 4+ star hotel with approximately 200–250 rooms.

This integrated approach aims to strengthen healthcare access while simultaneously supporting Guwahati’s growing hospitality sector. By bringing both facilities together, the development is expected to enhance the city’s capacity to serve patients, visitors, and medical travellers.

Government Support for Strategic Urban Development

As reported by Biospectrum India, the Government of Assam has approved the allocation of the land parcel for the project, recognising its potential to contribute significantly to the state’s healthcare infrastructure and urban economic growth.

State authorities view the project as an important step toward expanding tertiary care capacity while encouraging investment in modern urban infrastructure.

Advanced Multi-Speciality Hospital

Of the total land area, 1.46 acres will be dedicated to the hospital. Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited will develop the facility with an estimated investment of approximately ₹360–₹400 crore.

The hospital will offer advanced multi-speciality medical services across several key disciplines, including cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, and critical care. As a result, it is expected to strengthen tertiary healthcare access not only for Assam but also for the wider North-Eastern region.

Premium Hospitality Development

Meanwhile, the remaining 1.42 acres will house a premium 4+ star hotel. Ambuja Neotia Hotel Venture Limited will develop the property with an investment of around ₹350 crore.

The hotel, which will feature around 200–250 rooms, will support Guwahati’s growing hospitality demand while also catering to medical travellers, business visitors, and tourists.

Employment Generation and Regional Impact

In addition to strengthening infrastructure, the project is expected to create significant employment opportunities. The hospital alone is projected to generate between 1,500 and 2,000 direct jobs. Furthermore, the development will stimulate indirect employment through allied healthcare services, hospitality operations, and local businesses.

With this new integrated project, the group continues to expand its presence in the North-Eastern region while contributing to the development of modern healthcare infrastructure in the state.
