Ayush Ministry Showcases India’s Traditional Healthcare Legacy at Delhi Trade Fair

The Ministry of Ayush is promoting India’s rich traditional healthcare heritage by uniting various medicinal systems under one roof at the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi. The Ayush Pavilion presents holistic wellness solutions rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy, offering visitors an immersive experience in India’s diverse healthcare traditions.

Holistic Wellness on Display

Visitors to the Ayush Pavilion can explore a wide array of wellness offerings through interactive stalls set up by national institutions such as the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), and the National Institute of Siddha (NIS). These stalls feature digital diagnostics, dietary demonstrations, interactive games, and expert consultations. As per The Statesman, the pavilion has successfully drawn visitors of all age groups, engaging them with participatory activities, live demonstrations, and educational sessions.

Ayurveda: Nutrition and Resilience

At the AIIA booth, experts actively educate visitors about Ayurveda-based dietary practices. They explain how traditional grains, herbs, and spices strengthen the body’s natural resilience. They provide practical guidance on preparation methods to enhance nutrition. Focus areas include anemia management, immune support, and digestive wellness.

Unani Medicine: Digital Innovation

The ancient Greek-origin system of Unani medicine, refined by Arab and Persian scholars, is also prominently featured in the pavilion. Through a collaborative effort by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) and the National Institute of Unani Medicine, the digital “Mizaj-assessment” kiosk has become a key attraction. This kiosk identifies an individual’s temperament based on Unani diagnostic principles—Damvi (blood), Balghami (phlegm), Safravi (yellow bile), and Saudavi (black bile)—offering a personalized approach to wellness.

Promoting Siddha Education and Research

The National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai, is leveraging the pavilion to promote its UG, PG, and PhD programs. The institute actively encourages wider participation in Siddha education and research. It aims to cultivate interest in this ancient system among young scholars and wellness enthusiasts.

Engaging the Public with Traditional Healthcare

The Ayush Pavilion offers hands-on experiences, live demonstrations, and expert guidance. It bridges the gap between India’s traditional medicinal systems and the modern public. The Ministry of Ayush presents science-backed wellness practices in an accessible, interactive format. This reinforces India’s role as a global hub of holistic healthcare.
