C.O.D.E. 2.0 Conference Highlights Future of Diabetes Care

The Club for Diabetes Excellence (C.O.D.E.) hosted C.O.D.E. 2.0 (Conference on Diabetes Evolution 2.0) in Chennai, bringing together around 750 doctors, healthcare professionals and researchers to discuss the future of diabetes care in India.

Held under the theme “Transforming Diabetes Care through Innovation, Integration & Impact,” the conference explored new approaches to diabetes management, with a focus on personalised care, technology and clinical innovation.

Focus on Innovation and Early Intervention

The conference opened with the theme session “Diabetes 2030–2050: From Control to Cure,” highlighting the shift towards proactive and technology-driven care. Dr Vijay Viswanathan, Head and Chief Diabetologist, M.V. Hospital for Diabetes, also addressed diabetic foot prevention and early intervention.

As per the press release, the scientific programme covered insulin therapy, obesity and metabolic health, gestational diabetes, diabetic foot care, Type 1 diabetes and emerging treatments. Sessions also examined the role of Artificial Intelligence, digital healthcare and Continuous Glucose Monitoring in personalised diabetes management.

Building a Connected Diabetes Ecosystem

Dr Ashwin Karuppan, Founder and Chairman, C.O.D.E., said the initiative aims to bring knowledge, care and community together so that people living with diabetes do not face the condition alone.

Meanwhile, Dr Aafrin Shabbir, CEO, C.O.D.E., highlighted the growing role of technology, precision medicine and research in transforming diabetes care.

The conference was held under the guidance of Padma Shri Dr V. Mohan, Chief Patron; Padma Shri Dr Shashank R. Joshi, Organising Chairman; and Dr Banshi Saboo, Organising Secretary, along with the advisory board and participating healthcare professionals.
