Cloudnine Hospitals is set to acquire Apollo Cradle and Apollo Fertility, marking a major consolidation move in India’s maternity and childcare healthcare sector. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Cloudnine’s position as one of the country’s largest integrated maternity, paediatric, and fertility care providers.
Deal Expected to Expand Cloudnine’s Footprint
The acquisition will significantly expand Cloudnine’s presence across key Indian cities. Apollo Cradle currently operates maternity and infant care centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Gurugram, Amritsar, and other regions. With this deal, Cloudnine aims to broaden its network and improve access to specialised healthcare services for women and children.
As per The Economic Times, the transaction will help create one of India’s largest mother-and-child healthcare platforms.
Strategic Move for Apollo Hospitals
Apollo Hospitals had earlier initiated plans to divest its maternity and infant care arm, Apollo Cradle and Children’s Hospital (ACCHL). Reports suggested that the company appointed Allegro Capital Advisors to identify potential buyers for the business. Industry estimates valued the deal between ₹1,000 crore and ₹1,500 crore.
Meanwhile, Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited is expected to retain a strategic stake in the combined entity, allowing Apollo Hospitals to continue its presence in the women and child healthcare segment.
Cloudnine Strengthens Market Leadership
Cloudnine has steadily expanded its operations over the past few years. The hospital chain currently operates multiple centres across major Indian cities and has reported strong revenue growth driven by increasing demand for maternity and neonatal care services.
Furthermore, the acquisition is expected to intensify competition in India’s specialised healthcare market, especially in maternity, fertility, and paediatric care. Industry experts believe the combined platform could emerge as a dominant player in the segment.
