She said that healthcare must transition from episodic treatment to a preventive and patient-centric model that prioritises long-term wellbeing. According to her, strengthening primary healthcare, expanding insurance coverage, and promoting preventive health practices will be essential to reducing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Furthermore, she emphasised the role of technology and digital health platforms in improving healthcare access. Leveraging data-driven healthcare systems can help extend quality medical services to underserved regions while ensuring continuity of care.

Dr Reddy added that NATHEALTH will continue to work closely with the government and healthcare industry stakeholders to develop policies that improve quality standards, build trust in healthcare systems, and create an integrated ecosystem that delivers affordable and accessible care for every Indian.

Strengthening India’s Position in MedTech Innovation

Meanwhile, Himanshu Baid, Senior Vice President of NATHEALTH, highlighted India’s growing potential in medical technology and healthcare innovation.

He noted that the country is well positioned to emerge as a global hub for MedTech innovation, advanced medical device manufacturing, and healthcare technology solutions. India’s strong clinical expertise, expanding digital health ecosystem, and growing diagnostics capabilities create a foundation for the next phase of healthcare transformation.

However, Baid emphasised that achieving this vision will require sustained investment in research and development, supportive regulatory frameworks, and stronger collaboration between industry, academia, and policymakers.

As India progresses towards the Aarogya Bharat Mission 2047, strengthening domestic innovation and manufacturing will help improve healthcare accessibility within the country while positioning India as a trusted global provider of high-quality and affordable healthcare solutions.
