ICCRA-2025 Concludes at BHU with a Call for Evidence-Based Advancement of Ayurveda

Ayurveda must progress through scientific validation, interdisciplinary integration, and outcome-oriented research, stated Prof. S. N. Sankhwar, Director, IMS-BHU, during the valedictory function of the three-day international conference “Cutting-Edge Research in Ayurveda: Transforming Global Health (ICCRA-2025)” at Banaras Hindu University.

A Global Academic Platform for Ayurveda Research

Organised by the Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS-BHU, the conference concluded on Friday with active participation from eminent academicians, clinicians, and researchers from India and abroad. Over the three days, ICCRA-2025 served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and scientific dialogue in Ayurveda.

Strengthening Ayurveda–Modern Medicine Collaboration

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, IMS-BHU, stressed the importance of strong, evidence-based collaboration between Ayurveda and modern medicine. He noted that academic forums such as ICCRA-2025 play a vital role in addressing contemporary global health challenges by fostering integrative and translational research.

Growing Global Acceptance of Ayurveda

Highlighting Ayurveda’s expanding international relevance, Dr. Sunil Gautam, Director, Jeevak Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Research Centre, Akauni, said the conference reflected the growing global acceptance of Ayurvedic systems of medicine. He appreciated the quality of research presentations and encouraged young researchers to pursue innovation rooted in classical Ayurvedic principles while adopting rigorous scientific methodologies.

Reinforcing Research Culture and Policy Impact

In his presidential address, Prof. P. K. Goswami, President of ICCRA-2025, highlighted the rich academic legacy of the Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS-BHU. He emphasized that conferences like ICCRA-2025 strengthen research culture, promote global collaboration, and generate outcomes relevant to health policy and public health practice.

Strong Scientific Participation and Global Representation

Presenting the scientific report, Prof. B. M. Singh shared that the conference featured 31 plenary speakers and more than 100 research paper presentations. He added that delegates from the USA, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal, along with researchers from across India, actively participated, giving the conference a truly global character.

Recognising Academic Excellence

As reported by TOI, the valedictory ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and awards to recognise outstanding academic and research contributions. Through ICCRA-2025, IMS-BHU reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Ayurveda through scientific rigor, global engagement, and integrative healthcare solutions.
