Indian Dental Association to Host Hyderabad Dental Convention 2026 at HITEX

The Indian Dental Association (IDA) will host the prestigious Hyderabad Dental Convention (HDC) 2026 on July 25 and 26 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad. Telangana Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Damodar Raja Narsimha will inaugurate the two-day convention on July 25.

Senior IDA office-bearers, including Dr. Manoj Srivastava, President, IDA Headquarters; Dr. Nitin Barve, President-Elect; and Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Honorary Secretary General, will attend the inaugural ceremony.

Theme Focuses on Innovation in Dentistry

Held under the theme “Connecting Minds, Advancing Dentistry,” the convention is expected to attract more than 6,000 dental professionals, academicians, researchers, students and industry leaders from across the country.

A major highlight of this year’s event is its special focus on Sports Dentistry, an emerging field that addresses oral healthcare for athletes. Experts will discuss dental trauma prevention, athlete oral health assessments, custom mouthguards, emergency care protocols and the growing integration of dentistry with sports medicine.

As per a press release, the scientific programme will feature leading national and international experts who will present the latest developments in digital dentistry, implantology, esthetic rehabilitation, endodontics, orthodontics, preventive dentistry, artificial intelligence, biomaterials and minimally invasive treatment approaches. In addition, participants will gain practical experience through hands-on workshops and clinical training sessions on advanced materials, digital workflows, imaging technologies and modern treatment techniques.

Trade Exhibition and Student Events

The convention will also host one of India’s largest Dental Trade Exhibitions, featuring over 250 national and international exhibitors showcasing the latest products, equipment and technologies in oral healthcare.

Another key attraction is UDAAN, an academic and cultural platform that will include scientific paper presentations, poster competitions, table clinics, quizzes, debates, music, dance and cultural performances, providing an opportunity for students and professionals to showcase their talent.

Minister Invited as Chief Guest

Ahead of the convention, IDA office-bearers and the HDC 2026 organising committee met Health Minister Shri Damodar Raja Narsimha and felicitated him while formally inviting him to attend the event as the Chief Guest.

The delegation included Dr. Srikanth, Organising Chairman of HDC 2026 and Secretary, IDA Deccan; Dr. Y.S. Reddy, Organising Treasurer; Dr. Aditya Sandeep, Organising Secretary; along with Dr. Arjun Yadav, Dr. P. Karunakar, Dr. Prafulla and Dr. Niranjan Reddy.
