The Kerala Innovation Festival (KIF), held on July 25–26 at the Kerala Startup Mission’s (KSUM) Digital Hub in Kalamassery, is highlighting groundbreaking health-tech solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and 3D printing. The event has drawn significant attention for showcasing futuristic medical innovations that could transform patient care and diagnostics.

Bionic Robots and Health Apps Capture Attention

Two humanoid robots developed by Bionic AI welcomed visitors at the festival, engaging particularly well with children. These AI-driven robots served as a symbolic introduction to how intelligent machines are increasingly playing roles in healthcare and therapy.

Also featured was MyCare, a healthcare app designed to streamline access to medical services, demonstrating the power of mobile technology in personal health management.

Robotic Suits for Bedridden Patients

Astrek, a Kerala-based startup, unveiled its robotic suits designed specifically to assist bedridden patients. These suits help restore mobility and support rehabilitation, offering new hope to individuals with limited physical movement due to chronic illness or injury.

India’s First Bio-Ink for Artificial Organ Printing

As per the press release, one of the festival’s key highlights was Scire Science, India’s first and only manufacturer of bio-ink used for 3D printing of artificial organs. Remarkably, it is the fifth such company in the world. The bio-ink technology, developed in collaboration with the Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram, paves the way for customized organ development using patient-specific biological materials.

Celeste Align: Wire-Free Dental Solutions

In the field of dental innovation, Celeste Align showcased a product that aligns teeth without the use of traditional wires or braces. This aesthetic and comfortable alternative reflects how AI and design are merging to improve orthodontic treatments.

The Kerala Innovation Festival drew over 10,000 visitors on its opening day. As the event wraps up on Saturday, the spotlight remains firmly on the rapid evolution of medical technology. Kerala is emerging as a hub of healthcare innovation in India.
