Metropolis Healthcare plans to expand its presence to 1,000 towns across India within the next three years, up from the current 750 towns. The diagnostic chain will also add around 2,500 collection centres and increase its company-owned centres from 750 to 1,000.
As per The Economic Times, the company currently operates 209 laboratories and more than 5,000 centres across India and five African countries. It reported revenue of ₹1,646 crore in FY26.
Improving Network Efficiency
Meanwhile, Metropolis plans to increase its centre-to-lab ratio from 24:1 to 35:1 over the next two to three years. This strategy will help the company improve laboratory utilisation while supporting its expansion without rapidly adding new labs.
The company also plans to establish around 100 mini-hubs that will combine pathology with basic radiology services.
Focus on Technology and Genomics
Furthermore, Metropolis will strengthen its technology-led operations by using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve productivity, workflows and turnaround times. It is also expanding specialised testing, particularly in genomics, for cancer, neurological disorders and prenatal care.
The company aims to increase its EBITDA margin from 24.5% to 28% over the next three years and targets annual organic revenue growth of 14–15%.
