The Women’s Hospital officially inaugurated its multispeciality healthcare facility exclusively for women in Nehru Enclave, South Delhi, on Wednesday. The hospital aims to address long-standing gaps in women’s healthcare by offering integrated and specialised medical services under one roof.
Founded by entrepreneur Anika Parashar and backed by an investment of $5 million from multiple investors, the 30,000-square-foot facility focuses on providing comprehensive care for women across every stage of life — from adolescence and reproductive health to menopause, ageing, and cancer care.
Hospital Responds to Growing Need for Women-Centric Healthcare
The launch comes at a time when healthcare experts are increasingly emphasising the need for dedicated women-focused healthcare infrastructure in India.
According to data shared by the hospital, nearly 355 million women in India menstruate, while around 23 million girls drop out of school because of poor menstrual hygiene. In addition, the country records nearly 60,000 cervical cancer deaths every year. The hospital also highlighted that approximately 25% of Indian women suffer from PCOD/PCOS, while one in six couples faces infertility-related challenges.
Founder Highlights Vision for Holistic and Preventive Care
Speaking about the initiative, Anika Parashar said, “TWH comes from a gap I have seen in over 25 years of working closely with women, families, doctors, and healthcare teams. Women are often left to navigate fragmented systems, delay care, or feel unheard. We wanted to create a healthcare home where women can access specialised, preventive, and holistic care without judgement.”
The hospital administration further clarified that while the facility primarily caters to women, it will treat other patients only during emergencies before referring them to other hospitals.
Dedicated Clinics Cover Every Stage of Women’s Health
As reported by TOI, the Women’s Hospital has established specialised clinics focusing on different life stages and health concerns. These include adolescence care, fertility treatment, pregnancy management, postpartum recovery, menopause support, chronic and metabolic health, cancer screening, and mental health services.
Moreover, the hospital’s clinical team includes experts in gynaecology, neonatology, oncology, urogynecology, gastroenterology, functional medicine, and radiology.
Advanced Infrastructure and Technology Strengthen Patient Care
The facility houses 34 beds, including 12 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, along with three modular operation theatres and three delivery suites.
In addition, the hospital features robotic-assisted surgery, advanced fetal medicine infrastructure, and a Korean-designed operating suite, thereby strengthening its capability to deliver advanced and technology-driven healthcare services for women.
