Unifeeder, a DP World company, has partnered with Christian Medical College (CMC) and Hospital, Vellore, to launch CERVICARE THRICE, a comprehensive community health initiative aimed at enhancing cervical cancer prevention, screening, early detection, and treatment across India. The programme is being implemented in coordination with consulting partner Amana.

Strengthening Prevention, Screening, and Treatment

The initiative is built around the CERVICARE THRICE model, which reinforces cervical cancer prevention and treatment through structured screening and advanced clinical interventions. Additionally, the introduction of the Geneva brachytherapy applicator significantly improves precision and accessibility in cervical cancer care.

According to the Unifeeder press release, Unifeeder, CMC Vellore, and Amana representatives inaugurated the programme at CMC Vellore and unveiled the donor’s plaque.

Expanding Community Outreach and Screening

Through this initiative, Unifeeder and CMC Vellore aim to reach over 10,000 girls and women annually across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. School and community-based awareness sessions will drive preventive education and encourage early health-seeking behaviour.

Moreover, the programme will screen around 3,000 women each year using HPV and other diagnostic tests. Women identified with precancerous conditions will receive timely follow-up care and treatment through thermal ablation and Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) technologies.

Enhancing Advanced Treatment Capabilities

To further strengthen CMC Vellore’s oncology services, the initiative will deploy state-of-the-art Geneva brachytherapy applicators. These devices provide more accurate and effective cancer therapy. Each patient will also receive structured follow-up and long-term support, ensuring continuity of care and improved recovery outcomes.

Leadership Perspectives

Sobha Janardhanan, Chief Financial Officer, Unifeeder, said, “At Unifeeder, we are committed to supporting the communities where we operate by driving initiatives that create long-lasting social impact. Our partnership with CMC Vellore through the Cervicare Thrice initiative helps extend essential healthcare services to underserved women and aligns with DP World’s vision of empowering people and improving lives.”

Kisna Yadav, Chief Legal Officer, Unifeeder, added, “We are proud to support this important women’s health initiative. By focusing on awareness, screening, and treatment, we aim to help thousands of women protect themselves from cervical cancer. A Model for Sustainable Healthcare Impact

This collaboration showcases how partnerships between industry and healthcare institutions can drive sustainable, community-focused health outcomes. The programme combines Unifeeder’s commitment to social impact with CMC Vellore’s clinical expertise. It strengthens preventive healthcare infrastructure and improves access to life-saving care for women who need it most.

Early Impact and Future Goals

The CERVICARE THRICE Initiative operates as a preventive healthcare service delivery model designed to reduce cervical cancer incidence. It functions through capacity-building, community-focused partnerships, and expert guidance from the Department of Gynaecological Oncology at CMC Vellore.

So far, the programme has screened over 800 women across 21 community screening camps. This marks a strong start toward creating healthier and more resilient communities.
