The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a comprehensive AYUSH mobile application developed in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. According to an official statement issued on Sunday, the app aims to provide online OPD services while offering easy access to essential information on AYUSH systems of medicine.
Enhancing Accessibility and Transparency in AYUSH Healthcare
As reported by The Week, speaking about the initiative, AYUSH Principal Secretary Ranjan Kumar stated that the government is developing a state-of-the-art digital platform to make AYUSH healthcare more accessible and transparent. He added that the Chief Minister envisions bringing AYUSH services within the reach of every citizen across the state.
Online OPD Booking to Reduce Waiting Time
With the introduction of the app, patients will be able to book OPD appointments online, thereby eliminating the need to stand in long queues at AYUSH hospitals and centres. As a result, the initiative will save time, reduce overcrowding, and offer significant relief to senior citizens, women, and patients from remote and rural areas.
Comprehensive Information on AYUSH Systems
In addition to appointment booking, the app will provide detailed information on Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy. Users will be able to access information on treatments for various diseases, prescribed medicines, doctor profiles, nearby AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries, as well as preventive health tips.
Integration of Government Schemes and Programmes
Furthermore, the app will feature complete details of government schemes and programmes aimed at promoting AYUSH, enabling users to stay informed about available benefits and initiatives.
Secure, User-Friendly, and Future-Ready Platform
Designed for ease of use, the AYUSH app will be secure, fast, and reliable, with strong safeguards to protect patient data. Looking ahead, the government plans to introduce advanced features such as tele-consultation services, online medical reports, and digital health records. These upgrades will allow patients to receive expert medical guidance from home while further strengthening public trust in AYUSH systems.
