The Government of NCT of Delhi will establish Homeopathy and Unani OPD clinics at Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan (CBPACS) to strengthen integrated AYUSH-based wellness and stress management services in the national capital, officials said on Friday.
Initiative Aims to Expand Integrated AYUSH Healthcare
The Directorate of AYUSH, Government of NCT of Delhi, will implement the initiative with the objective of providing holistic and accessible healthcare services through multiple AYUSH systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Homeopathy, and Unani.
According to an official statement, the initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare and improve access to integrated treatment systems under one platform. In addition, the OPD services are expected to support stress management and overall wellness through evidence-based AYUSH interventions.
Directorate of AYUSH to Manage Operations
Under the arrangement, the Directorate of AYUSH will deploy doctors and supporting staff for the OPD services. Furthermore, the directorate will bear the operational expenses of the clinics.
Meanwhile, CBPACS, an autonomous institute functioning under the Delhi government’s Health and Family Welfare Department, will provide the required infrastructure, space, and institutional support for the smooth functioning of the services.
Health Minister Highlights Focus on Affordable and Holistic Care
Pankaj Kumar Singh said the Delhi government remains committed to strengthening affordable and holistic healthcare services for citizens.
“The introduction of Homeopathy and Unani OPD services at CBPACS will further expand access to integrated AYUSH-based treatment and stress management facilities in the national capital,” he said.
Research Bodies to Support Evidence-Based AYUSH Care
Officials stated that several premier research organisations have joined the initiative to help generate scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of AYUSH systems in stress management and holistic healthcare.
These organisations include the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, and Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy.
Through this collaboration, the government aims to strengthen evidence-based preventive healthcare services while encouraging wider adoption of integrated wellness practices.
Initiative Part of Broader Healthcare Expansion Plan
As reported by Hindustan Times, the Delhi government stated that the initiative is being undertaken under the leadership of Rekha Gupta as part of broader efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure and expand affordable treatment facilities across multiple streams of medicine in the city.
