Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a 1,200-bed multi-speciality hospital in Shirpur, located in the Dhule district. This development marks a significant step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Vision to Create a Regional Healthcare Hub
As reported by Digital Health News, the facility, developed by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal, aims to function as a regional healthcare hub. It will cater not only to patients from Maharashtra but also to those from neighbouring states such as Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. As a result, the hospital is expected to improve access to advanced medical services across a wider geographic area.
Expanding Access to Advanced Care
Named Tapanbai Mukushbhai Patel Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, the institution focuses on delivering advanced healthcare services to underserved populations. In particular, it will benefit patients from tribal and rural regions such as Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Nashik, where access to specialised care has traditionally remained limited.
Inclusive and Affordable Healthcare Model
Importantly, the hospital has adopted an “equal treatment for all” approach. It offers cashless healthcare services for economically weaker sections while also providing advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities. Therefore, it aims to bridge the gap between affordability and quality care.
Boosting Regional Development
Alongside the hospital’s inauguration, Devendra Fadnavis outlined broader development plans for Shirpur. He announced proposed investments of approximately INR 40,000 crore to drive industrial growth and overall development in the Dhule district.
Integrated Growth Through Infrastructure and Education
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted Shirpur’s integrated development model. He emphasized that parallel investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure are creating opportunities for skill development and employment generation. Consequently, these initiatives are expected to contribute to long-term socio-economic growth in the region.
